Ny new sewing place
I’m really happy to write to you today to show you my new sewing corner (because let’s be honest, the day I’ll have an entire room just for sewing won’t happen for quite a while!). We finally received our boxes this week, after 13 weeks of waiting, and we are so happy! It’s been way, way longer than it was supposed to be, but at least everything arrived in a good condition (or almost, my poor royal mug got broken….).
I’ve been knitting quite a lot during the last few months, and I’m really happy with it, but I can’t wait to start a new sewing project. I have a lot of ideas, so I need to sit down and decide which one I want to start with.
I bought this nice desk in Ikea, and it’s 1m50 long, which leaves me enough space for both of my sewing machine. As I had a smaller desk in Montreal, I think I will really enjoy this new one. My sewing machines are the ones I bought in Montreal a few years ago, that I decided to bring back here. I can’t use them like this, so I had to buy a converter as I really wanted to keep them. When I made my Safran jeans this summer on my nan’s sewing machine, I realised how hard it is to change sewing machine, and how used to you are to the one you have!! Everything goes so smoothly and quickly with yours.
I bought a little rack from Ikea as well for some of my sewing furnitures, and I really like the style of it. When I see my thread frame, I realise that it would be time for me to buy more thread!! Where have they all gone?!
Anyway, a little lamp on the side, a good ironing table (so difficult to find a good and solid one, if anyone’s got ideas where I could find that!), and I’ll be all set to sew again!
I’m not sure it will stay that tidy for a long time but well …. That’s sewing!
