New pattern release : Lady Matilda
It is knitted from top to bottom: the back, the sleeves and the the beginning of the front are knitted back and forth to create a nice neckline. The front parts are then joined together to knit in the round and create the bust. The sleeves are put on hold to knit the body; Once the body is knitted, the stitches from the sleeves are put back on the needles to be knitted one by one.
The sleeves can be finished with 3 options : simple twisted ribbing, with a piece of lace sewn on the inside, or a knitted lace picked up after the dot stitch. The stitches from the neckline are picked-up to knit a few rows of twisted ribbing at the neckline. What about this sweater? It has a pretty textured stitch on the body but also on the sleeves, as well as a nice neckline and beautiful feminine details: twisted ribbing and choice of sewn or knitted lace.
As for Lady Mademoiselle Dandelion, this pattern is available in many sizes: 80, 85 (90, 95, 100, 105, 110) [115, 120, 125, 130] cm of bust circumference. The gauge is in fingering weight yarn (4ply) – 26 stitches x 34 rows for 10cm. The yarn used for my version is the base Athéna 100% Merino from Lain’amourée in “De l’eau dans mon vert” colorway. The recommended ease is between 0 to 5 cm of positive ease. For my version, I wear on the pictures the size 80cm with 2cm of positive ease.I chose to add on my version a sewn lace that I had in my stash for a little while, and it’s a very beautiful vintage lace. Here is a photo of a version with the knitted lace option (same colourway).Like all my pattern, Lady Matilda is available in English as well as in French. In addition, it is explained step by step and with charts, which makes it very accessible to beginners. The textured stitch is very simple to knit, but makes the sweater more interesting to knit! I hope that this pattern will please you !! You can find it now on Ravelry. Enjoy a 20% discount with code ladymatilda20 until May 31st!
