Me-Made-Maternity (W25) : Circle skirt
Today I am going to show you a very simple – very quick – but very comfy projet.
But before that, I have to tell you something : It’s now almost impossible for me to spend an entire day sewing like I used to! My back hurts way too much, and I have to sit and relax very often … So, when I sew, I need easy and fast project.
Summer is still very present in east canada lately, and, about 10 days ago, the temperature was about 40 degrees outside! It’s been a bit better in the last few days (32 degrees) but still, we are not used to this in september, and I don’t have much summer clothes left to wear with the bump. I needed a quick and simple project to add something in my closet before autumn arrives.
I used Cotton & Curls circle skirt DIY to make it. I know how to make a circle skirt usually (and even explained to you in this post) but this time, I needed to see how to do to fit my belly in this skirt. Basically, you need to take your belly measurement as your radius instead of your normal waist, if you want to use an elastic at the waist. If you do that, your hem will be the same in front and back.
To make this project, I used a cotton fabric I ordered from Pretty Mercerie back in spring. When I made my order, I had some projects in my mind for this fabric, but with the growing belly, I had to change my ideas! I actually realised after making this skirt that it was quite fashionable in plaid fabric like this for this summer and next autumn! Yay for that!
It’s a very simple garnement but it’s adding something in my closet that I can easily wear before the leafs turn all brown!
Have a nice week-end!
