DIY Leather bow bracelet
Hello Everyone! As most of you have noticed, I am wearing a leather bow bracelet in my two latest post here and here. This type of bracelet is very simple to make and doesn’t cost much. And in my opinion, it is a very nice accessorise ! As several of you asked me lately how I’ve made them, here is a tutorial for all of you!
First of all, you will need :
– thin leather
– the pattern that you can find here, be careful to unclick “adjust to the page”
– a clothespeg
– metal snaps
– thread and a needle OR glue for leather
First of all, as you can see, I gave you two sizes for the pattern. As we don’t all have the same rist, you would need maybe to adjust it. Try the paper on you before cutting in your leather and see if one of them fits you. If not, adjust it a little bit. Then, cut the pattern in your leather.
Then, fold your bracelet in two like on the picture below. Fold again each side right on the middle like on the picture below. Press well in the middle and put the clothespeg on it . Then, take the leather strap, and roll it around your bracelet. Then, you have two options to attach the strap to the bracelet : you could use leather glue, and cut the seam allowance after, or you could hand sew it on the side. In this example, I used glue. If you do, leave it to dry for quite a while (look at the recommandations on your glue bottle). The result should be like this.
Then, it’s time to attach your metal snaps. If it’s your first time, you can find a good explanation here. Be careful to press the snap very well so it won’t fall when you take off the bracelet.
Now you have a nice leather bow bracelet too! Feel free to send me pictures of your realisations! It is such a nice gift for christmas!
