Blog anniversary : 3 years (+ a contest!)
In December 2013, on the advice of a friend, I opened this sewing blog. I did not know if I would like having a blog, but I wanted to share my sewing projects, what I wanted to make, or my discoveries.
Today, three years later, it is always a great pleasure to come to this blog regularly to write to you and tell you about my projects! I continued sewing, while trying new challenges (like sewing my swimsuits, or jeans), but I also discovered knitting, which was a revelation. I have not stopped since I started, and although I’ve knitted a lot for my daughter, I love to plan a few projects for me as well. I sincerely thank my two Montreal knitting friends: Audrey and Amélie who have been (and still are) of tremendous help in my journey into learning how to knit. Since our move to England, I don’t know anyone around me that is sewing or knitting, so I’m excited to continue sharing my passion via this blog or social networks. In three years I learned a lot, and I’ve made amazing friends. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for us!
This year has been a roller coast of emotions, on the blog side, but especially on the personal side. Some very difficult moments, but also very beautiful moments, full of love, with among others the arrival of my daughter. I wanted to thank you sincerely for your support, your comments, your sweet words this year, which have touched me enormously. I have not always had time to reply to all messages (I apologize, yet I try!) But I have read them all and they have helped me a lot.
As every year in this article, I make a review of the projects that I have realized and that I prefer. This year, my favourites are :
I made it short as you can see and I chose four: my Aldaia dress by Pauline Alice, my Moneta dress by Colette Patterns, my Sophie swuimsuit by Closet Case Patterns, and my Suzon blouse by RDC. I also loved to sew my Safran pants by Deer & Doe, but the fabric leaves my legs so blue that I have a hard time wearing it. So I have to sew another version as fast as possible!
But I think the project that I’m the most proud of this year is my Riddari sweater, which you can see on the photos of this article. A big project but I loved knitting it and I wear very regularly.
It has been a great year, and to thank you for your kindness, and your presence on the blog or social media, I decided to organize a contest with lots of beautiful things to win! And thanks to my partners, I can offer you many more things this year! So are you ready?! Here are the gifts :
- For fabrics:
- For the patterns:
And yes, you are not dreaming! This year there will be 5 winners!
So what do you have to do?! Well, it’s very simple! Just leave me a comment under this article and tell me:
- One thing that you liked about the blog this year (project, type of article, pictures setting …)
- One thing you would like to see on the blog next year.
You have until Monday, December 19th, 23:59 (GMT) to participate, and I will then select the winners later in the week. This contest is now over!
I’m thinking a lot about what I want to do on the blog next year. After 3 years I need a change, although I will still share the same content don’t worry. However, I also imagine some changes like perhaps the logo, or even the name … As I want to share more knitting, experiences and reviews. This blog will still be about sewing, but not only … Stay tuned!
In the meantime, I thank you AGAIN for everything, and don’t forget to enter the contest!
Thank you to my four sponsors for their participation, and good luck to all of you!
