Myrantine – Citronille
Hello everyone! I’m coming to you to do with a baby sewing post! Don’t worry I’ll show you some adult sewing projects in not too long…. I actually just ordered fabric from Pretty Mercerie! For now, I’m just struggling with my bust size as it is way bigger than my usual one (#breastfeeding). If I sew for now, I won’t be able to wear my clothes in a few months. But if I sew with my original size, I can’t wear them now. What a dilemma right!
Instead, I’m sewing for my little girl! I didn’t have much kids patterns yet, but I think it’s not going to be long until I buy a lot !
After a month and half wearing pyjamas, I was really looking forward to dress Alice in real clothes! My favourite trio is a legging, a little top and a nice cardigan. But if you can add a peter pan collar on the top it’s even BETTER! I think Alice is going to hate me later on with my peter pan collars and my bows if it’s not her style!
I used the pattern Myrantine from the french brand Citronille for the first time. This top has a buttoned back, and a gathered yoke. I actually added a peter pan collar that wasn’t in the option in the pattern.
As it is way more difficult to sew when you have a baby, I actually did two in same time when her daddy was off from work! So at least you take out everything you need only once!
I did the size 3 months for both version, and it fits her perfectly for now. On the first version I used the fabric A nana’s fabric, from l’Atelier de Dina. I wanted to try this fabric for a very long time as I’m in love with the little gold pineapples. This fabric is a voile, so it’s very thin, which would be perfect for summer, but is ok for now with a cardigan on top.
For the second version I used the fabric Tutti Frutti from the shop Un chat sur un fil. I made a prenancy blouse in the pink version of the fabric back in the fall and I couldn’t wait to sew something for alice in it! I absolutely love this fabric and the quality is amazing. Plus, I’ve got enough fabric left to make an other outfit for summer!
Do you sew for your babies? Do you have patterns you love to recommend? Have a nice and cosy week-end!
